Haven’t taken any concrete action against builder
Mumbai, 9: For some time now, Maharashtra Varta’s ‘Aapli Samasya’ team has been covering the scam perpetrated by Raiees Lashkaria, a developer at the Parel Sahyadri (SRA) Co-operative Housing Society in Worli, Mumbai, with the connivance of officials. During this period, Mr. Sawant and Tukaram Chokhamagare presented the history of problems on camera. In this regard, the legal team of Maharashtra Varta has initially lodged a complaint with the SRA administration through online. But despite the deadline, no reply has been received yet. In this regard, two days ago, our team finally sent one complaint to Deputy Chief Engineer R. B. Mitkar.
Meanwhile parallelly the residents of Parel Sahyadri (SRA) Co-Operative Housing Society Ltd. have lodged a written complaint with the Zhopu Authority with the help of Maharashtra Varta.
In all these complaints, Maharashtra Varta has exposed the scams committed by the developers and the officials, especially pointed out that yet Raiees Lashkaria didn’t got punished by any way.
Who is Raiees Lashkaria?
He is the promoter of Reliance Construction (Not Ambani’s) and director of Lashkaria Construction Pvt. Ltd. Rais Lashkaria is considered to be one of the biggest developers in Mumbai and his special interest has been shown in SRA projects. Lashkaria has also produced many Marathi films in the recent time. Some of which are Swarajya, Ektara. Raiees Lashkaria is a born Congressman but had contested from Andheri West Assembly constituency in 2014 on a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s ticket in which he was defeated. Currently he is in ruling party, the Congress. It is privately said that he was not cracked down by different-different government authorities as he is close to the leaders of all political parties.
Last year, a slab of a building in the SRA project developed by Lashkaria’s company at Kama Road, Gavdevi Dongar in Andheri West collapsed. Two people were also injured in the accident. This time too, the residents had demanded strict action against the developer Raiees Lashkaria. It is learned that the engineers from SRA administration overlooked the issue.
In the Parel Sahyadri (SRA) housing project, the SRA engineering department seems to have a special ‘love’ for the Lashkaria’s. Overall, Maharashtra Varta’s ‘Aapli Samasya’ team is taking such kind of real estate scams very seriously and will take even tougher steps in the near future against those who violate the rights of the common poor residents.
